Pondicherry University Community College, Department of Visual Communication, hosted PADAM Film Festival 2025.
The Pondicherry University Community College organised Padam to celebrate films and creativity. The event took place on 20th March 2025, at Kamarajar Manimandapam, located in Karuvadikuppam on ECR Road, Puducherry. The festival commenced with an inaugural ceremony at 11:30 AM, graced by the presence of Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, served as the Chief Guest, delivering an inspiring speech.
The event opened with a welcome address by Prof. Lalitha Ramakrishnan, Principal (i/c) of the Pondicherry University Community College. This was followed by a presentation on the scope of the event by Dr. C. Suresh Kumar, Associate Professor and Head (i/c), Department of Visual Communication. The insights highlighted the festival’s aim to inspire and nurture creativity among students and professionals. Prof. R. Sevukan, Dean of the School of Media and Communication, Pondicherry University, delivered a heartfelt felicitation, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Babu Yogeswaran, an acclaimed film director, who shared valuable perspectives on contemporary cinema and storytelling.
The ceremony concluded with a sincere vote of thanks by Dr. K.S. Krithika, Associate Professor, Department of Visual Communication, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and attendees for their support and enthusiasm.
PADAM 2025 was a platform for celebrating the art of visual communication, bringing together creative minds and fostering innovation in filmmaking. Out of 80 film entries 40 were selected to screen on this two days. This highlighted the cultural significance of storytelling while providing opportunities for students and professionals to showcase their talents.
