Puducherry, June 27: Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, delivered an impassioned address at Pondicherry University today, calling for a national awakening rooted in India’s ancient civilizational wisdom. “Sanatan pride is rebuilding,” he declared, reflecting on the glorious legacy of Nalanda and Takshashila while lamenting the historical destruction of India’s knowledge systems.

Speaking to students and faculty, Shri Dhankhar underscored the need to lower political temperatures and revive the spirit of dialogue and inclusivity. “We must not melt the glaciers of our patience,” he said, urging political leaders to prioritise national interest over partisan conflict.

He also expressed concern over the commodification of education and appealed to corporate leaders to invest in creating institutions of global eminence through CSR initiatives. Emphasising alumni support, he called for the creation of university endowment funds, stating, “The spirit matters more than the amount.”

The event was attended by Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, and other dignitaries.
