Dr. H Naganagouda speaks at Pondicherry University
Dr. H Naganagouda, director of National Centre for Solar technology, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd visited the Madanjeet School of Green Energy Technology on 12 February, 2014. He delivered a lecture on “Wind – Solar Hybrid Systems for Energy, Environment & Economy – A Layman’s Road Map” at the EC Hall in the Administrative building at 3.30 pm.
He talked about solar power and how grid-connected solar power generation is a new concept in the country. Very few grid-connected solar photovoltaic power plants have been set up so far. Moreover, Dr. H Naganagouda emphasized, that our country is lacking in experienced manpower to design, construct, manage and maintain grid-connected solar power plants.
Dr. H Naganagouda said, in his lecture, that the objective is to fulfil the need for trained manpower in grid connected power plants. Dr. H Naganagouda explained that it is important to have training and education, including hands-on training in these aspects. This training programme is set up jointly by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited and Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, New Delhi along with TRA International – Knowledge Service Division.
