Honoring Puducherry Liberation Day: A Celebration of Freedom and Unity

November 1st, is Puducherry Liberation Day. It commemorates the liberation of Puducherry from French colonial rule in 1954.  This day marks the integration of Puducherry into the Indian Union as a Union Territory.

It marks the end of over 300 years of French colonial rule in Puducherry. Puducherry Liberation Day holds immense significance for the people of Puducherry as it represents their journey from colonial rule to becoming an integral part of India.
