Happy tales of Goubert market, Puducherry
‘Being happy is not just for today, we can be happy every day. Why can’t every day be a Happy Day?’
On the 20th of March, in the streets of Goubert Market, the people were unaware of The International Day of Happiness. Yet, the radiant smiles reflected their happiness through their daily chores of earning a modest livelihood. Here are a few happy tales from the market:
The shops were very crowded and his hands had to get the work done at the speed of light to serve all the vendors in the crowd. Despite all the chaos and noise around him, he didn’t forget to spread positivity with his smile.
As we celebrate ‘The International Day of Happiness’, I found myself immersed in the vibrant streets of Goubert Market in Puducherry, surrounded by people who embody the true spirit of joy. Despite the challenges of their daily lives, these individuals radiate happiness and contentment, inspiring us to reevaluate our own priorities. As I witnessed the tea boy’s bright smile, the working woman’s infectious laughter, and the young girl’s carefree delight, I realized that happiness is not just a feeling, but a choice. It’s a choice to appreciate the simple things, to connect with others, and to find joy in the everyday moments. As we strive for happiness in our own lives, let’s draw inspiration from these remarkable individuals and celebrate the unbridled joy that makes life worth living.
As I wandered through the market, engaging with the locals, one elderly man posed a profound question that struck a chord within me. ‘Why do we reserve happiness for just one day?’ he asked. ‘Being happy is not just for today, we can be happy every day. Why can’t every day be a Happy Day?’ His words resonated deeply, and I couldn’t help but agree. He reminded me that happiness is a mindset, a choice we can make every moment of our lives. By embracing this perspective, we can transform every day into a celebration of joy, gratitude, and happiness.
