“Teachers should always keep a smile on their face so that students won’t sleep in the classrooms,” Dr. Anandakrishnan, enlightened the faculty of the university with his speech during the Teachers’ Day celebrations here on Sep 5. Padmashree Dr. Anandkrishnan, Chairman of IIT, Kanpur was the chief guest of the event.

Forty ‘Best Teachers’ were selected based on the assessment made by the students. Dr. Anandakrishnan gave out the token of appreciation to the award winning teachers and also presented a paper on ‘Destiny Shaped Over Classrooms.’ On behalf of the award winners, Mr. Kuppuswami from the Department of Computer Science and Ms. Velari from the Department of Anthropology expressed their gratitude to the university and the students.

The function, inaugurated by Prof. J.A.K. Tareen, Vice Chancellor of PU was attended by a majority of students and faculty.
