The workshop instilled professionalism in the students. At the end of the workshop, students made a news bulletin including interviews, vox-pop and anchor links. “I was very camera shy and used to run away whenever somebody approached me with one, but after this workshop my confidence level has increased,” says Sharhad, a 1st year M.A. Mass Communication student. The workshop helped students get firsthand experience on how the industry works. In Shazia’s words, “the students are now infected by the broadcast journalism virus and no rebooting will help kill the virus.”

Having engaged the industry for over a decade now, Shazia Ilmi, is certainly an achiever. With a passion and flair for broadcasting, she pursued her Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Cardiff in the UK after completing her Masters in Mass Communication from MCRC, Jamia Milia Islamia in New Delhi.
