A talented director and actor, with a passion for the performing arts and French and Tamil literature, Kumarane Valavane wanted to bring together and celebrate the two cultures in the cosmopolitan city of Pondicherry. In April 2010, with the support of the Mr. Pierre Fournier, the Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Mr. Mathew Samuel of the Pondicherry Tourism Department, Kumarane Valavane and the entire Indianostrum team of artists, rolled up their sleeves and got to work in order to launch the very first edition of this festival.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 10pt\"> The event attracted more than 10000 people despite the limited budget and the late announcement of the festival.
