Sadanand Menon visits Tasmai

Sadanand Menon, a noted arts critic, reputed culture journalist and arts editor was invited to give a talk at Tasmai Art Gallery and to share his views on the ongoing art exhibition, at the same venue, MAA on 18 April, 2014.

Sadanand Menon had a vibrant dialogue with his audience on various topics related to art and culture in India. He delineated the historical lineage of art in India, the evolution of abstract art from portraits and landscape painting and finally the modern art and its impact on people.

He emphasised upon the importance of the job of a curator and how a curator brings to light what was hidden and lost in the crowd. The discussion invited many comments and questions from the audience who were an eclectic mix of artists and common people. Sadanand Menon addressed all questions raised by his audience and spoke at length about the kind of art that should be coming out from Pondicherry.
