CME programme on issues of HIV conducted in JIPMER

The Department of Microbiology, JIPMER and Pondicherry AIDS Control Society (PACS) organized a one day Continuing Medical Examination Programmes (CME) on “ Issues in HIV” on the 24th of January. It was inaugurated by Dr. J. Balachander, Medical Superintendent, JIPMER. It was organized for the resident doctors and medical officers of various medical institutes and hospitals of Puducherry. It was conducted to enlighten the delegates on the challenges posed by the disease.

Dr. Gideon, Deputy Director, PACS informed the gathering about its recent activities and Dr. Anil Purty, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, PIMS, discussed the social stigma associated with AIDS/ HIV. “Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)” was discussed by Dr. A. Hamide, Professor of Medicine, JIPMER.

Distinguished speakers from different fields delivered lectures and interacted with the students. The CME concluded with a valedictory function.
